I have a few favorite “go to” recipes for brownies when I am craving some chocolate or need to deliver goodies to a friend or party. This is one of my favorites and a must try for anyone looking for healthier dessert options and is also paleo approved, gluten and dairy free, and free of processed sugars!


  • 1 15oz. can garbanzo beans (rinsed and drained)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/4 C coconut oil (melted)
  • 1/2 C raw honey
  • 1/3 C cacao powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. sea salt
  • 1/4 C chocolate chips (I use Lilly’s brand or Enjoy Life – both can be purchased at most grocery stores and health food stores)

Blend everything except chocolate chips in a blender until creamy. Stir in chocolate chips with a spatula. Spray a glass plan with coconut oil (I usually use a 9×9 pan – it depends on how thick you want them). Heat oven to 350 and bake about 20-25 minutes!

You can eat these plain or top them with a yummy frosting! I usually whip up some frosting with vanilla extract, grass-fed butter or coconut oil, unsweetened almond milk and cacao powder – all mixed to the consistency and taste I want!.
